Festivals
At the heart of our youth empowerment through music program are the 34 Provincial and 5 National festivals, followed by the InterRegional Festival (IRF). This event is the culmination of the year and the big showcase where the best two bands from each country come together, share their music with bands from across the world, and compete for international tours, studio recordings, and instrument prizes.
The festivals are made up of at least two full days of workshops on music creation, training and music business/entrepreneurship, jam sessions, relationship workshops, and get-togethers. They lead up to the final day of the festival where all participants compete in concert, and a competent jury selects the best acts to proceed to the next level.
Between festival periods, Music Crossroads offers local opportunities for children,
young artists and bands to develop their creative, instrumental, vocal and life skills in the national Music Crossroads Training Centers - and the best are promoted on national
and international levels.
