Club Shanga are set to record album and tour Europe

Club Shanga from Zimbabwe, winners of the Music Crossroads Interregional Festival (IRF) 2010 as well as the ‘Chibuku Road to Fame' music talent search competition, are expected to start recording their debut album with Zimbabwe Music Corporation.
The seven-piece group received a recording contract as one of their prizes for winning last year's edition of this Zimbabwean music talent search competition, which was held in Harare.
Club Shanga's debut album is expected to be launched at the end of February, as reported by News Day. In addition, the group is also set to tour Europe for three months beginning on 10th May as part of the first prize of the Music Crossroads IRF 2010, which was held in Tanzania.
The group formed in 2007 in Marondera will perform at various European festivals, concerts, schools, theatre, night clubs and attend workshops.
"While in Europe, Club Shanga will tour Spain, Austria, Holland, Ireland and the UK. We are still in the process of negotiating with Germany and Finland so that the group tours there too," commented Mathias Bangure, director of Music Crossroads Zimbabwe, to the newspaper.
