Relationship Workshops

Introduced in the year 2000, the Relationship Workshops are mandatory for all participants in every Music Crossroads Festivals. Participants provide the topics to be discussed and are encouraged to speak their mind.

Through practical information and group dynamic methods such as Active Value Clarification & Forum Theatre, they gain a unique opportunity to share their values, confront attitudes and openly discuss sexuality, gender issues and societal expectations - demystifying the myths that render them vulnerable.

These workshops are organized into both girls' only sessions - during NGOMA Girls activities - and mixed gender sessions. They aim to teach participants to differentiate between gender and sex, and identify what are biological differences and socially constructed roles.

Being a musician and a potential icon could increase your risk of HIV infection. Our strategy is based on the belief that with the appropriate information and tools, young people will be more able to understand the consequences of their actions and make their own strategic decisions regarding their sexuality.
