Mokoomba launch single 'Mese Mese' and their debut album 'Kweseka', in Harare!

After a successful European tour, Mokoomba's single track CD/DVD, 'Mese Mese' is being released for the 'End Poverty Campaign', and their six-track debut album 'Kweseka' was officially launched in Harare.
Alliance Francaise joined arms with Music Crossroads Zimbabwe for this launch, which is taking place today at Alliance Francaise in the capital city of Zimbabwe. Please click on our calendar for more info on this event.
The “End Poverty Campaign” CD/DVD was recorded in the Netherlands in collaboration with famous Dutch DJ/Producer, Gregor Salto. This project by Africa Unsigned/UpToYouToo, complemented by Music Crossroads Zimbabwe, saw Mokoomba recording a remix of their track “Mese Mese” from their album, “Kweseka.”. The remix will be used to foster the campaign for the eradication of extreme poverty by 2015, which is one of the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
The album 'Kweseka' was recorded at Thulani Studios in Harare after the group won the 2008 Inter-Regional Festival hosted by Music Crossroads Malawi in 2008. Mokoomba is a six-piece, all-male band reigning from the Victoria Falls-Binga area of Zimbabwe. Their music is a fusion of their Tonga musical instruments, language and culture with that of the West, giving listeners some wild but well-arranged Tongan vibes.
