Northern competitions winners in Malawi announced!
The third and final regional Music Crossroads competition took place at the Mzuzu Hotel's Boma Park this past Sunday, October 23.
The competition was truly an electrifying show which showcased eight different bands from the area, each hoping for a chance to win one of the final two spots allotted for the National Competition. All competitors did their best to entertain the energized crowd and distinguished panel of judges which included Greagory Gondwe (Zodiak radio), Tionge hango (Former Music Crossroads winner with Tikhu Vibrations) and madam Dalitso Nkhoma. The task was not easy, but after careful deliberation and consideration, the judges announced their decision...

Congratulations and thanks to both of these bands on a job well done! Ulumba Band and Pamlonga Band now join the winner's circle with four other bands to be considered at the National level.
Konkalazi and Crystal Band (Central Region Winners), Muhanya & Dikamaoko Band and Magic COB (Southern Region Winners), and Ulumba Band and Pamlonga Band (Northern Region Winners) make up the final list of contestants at the National Competition to be considered for a chance to compete at the Music Crossroads Inter-Regional Festival in Maputo, Mozambique on 25 January, 2012. Congratulations to them all on their success and we wish them the best of luck at the National level and in the future!
