Dulce Band is a seven-piece founded in 2007 by youngsters from Maputo City. But the band members have been playing together from several years on other bands. The name stems from Dulce Muhate the lead vocalists, as being the only female member when the band was founded. Some of the members are brothers (bass, drums and keyboard) and two of the singers are sisters; most of the members are multi-instrumentalists, as most of they came from the same neighbourhood and taught each other the different diciplines.

Their sound is a mixture of Mozambican traditional and modern rhythms with jazz. They brand their music as "Afro-fusion".
The group has performed in different events around Mozambique, also have been a supporting and backing band for musicians like Salimo Mohamed (Mozambique) and Jeff Maluleka (South Africa).
